Name its position and whether the issue involves starting, staying on or responding to the control. Don't assume the same repair applies to the other burners.
Clicking continues after a spill
Include the timing of the spill or cleaning. Keep the affected control off and follow only the owner's care instructions.
An electric zone behaves erratically
Explain whether it stays cold, stops during use or fails to respond normally. Report any visible damage to the surface.
What the repair assessment needs to establish
The model determines which ignition, heating and control checks are appropriate. A cooktop installed on its own also has different access requirements from a range or rangetop. A photo of the overall installation can help clarify which appliance needs attention.
Before your service visit
Remove cookware after everything has cooled. Leave the appliance seated in the counter, with its gas and electrical connections undisturbed. If there is a gas smell, leave the area and seek utility or emergency assistance; don't wait for a routine appointment.
